During 2011 we, all of us, have been offered the opportunity of a lifetime.
Drum Dance and Dream for Peace will provide the closing ceremony: A Ceremony for
the Future of the World's Children, and a drum circle for all on the Mall, as
the finale of the World Children's Festival on the National Mall in Washington,
D.C. on Sunday, June 19, 2011 from three to five p.m.
Additionally, between June 18 and June 28, there will be drumming circles held
globally, concluding with a drumming ceremony at the 28th Annual Conference of
the International Association for the Study of Dreams in Kerkrade, the
Netherlands.
This event is sponsored by the World Dreams Peace Bridge and the
iMAGE Project in support of the World
Children's Festival and the International Child Art Foundation and in support of a peaceful future for all of the world's
children.
IN WASHINGTON

Discover the Peace Train
Members of the World Dreams Peace Bridge have created children's Peace Trains in
over twenty countries, based on the dream of poet Jeremy Seligson from South
Korea. Meet Jeremy and his daughter Elioisa at the Peace Train Workshop on the
Mall.
Meet Our Iraqi Family

Since 2003, the World Dreams Peace Bridge has raised over $60,000 in aid to the
refugees from Iraq, including aiding the family of Ihsan and Ruqayya to find a
new home in the United States. We will be honored to greet them at the World
Children's Festival. Learn more about the World Dreams Aid for Traumatized
Children Project.
IN THE NETHERLANDS

IASD's 28th Annual International Conference Host, Willem Fermont, has donated
the use of stainless steel instruments he built last year for a performance
piece to create a perfect closing ceremony for Drum Dance and Dream for Peace at
the 11th Century Rolduc Abbey in Kerkrade, the Netherlands. Learn more about
IASD and the Rolduc Conference.

HISTORY OF DRUM DANCE AND DREAM FOR PEACE
Members of the World Dreams Peace Bridge began dreaming about
Drum Dance and Dream for Peace in 200
5. By the time we were invited to "create the world's largest
drumming circle" for the 2007 World Children's Festival, we were ready. Like a
seed planted in the earth, Drum Dance and Dream for Peace has continued to grow.

FOR THE CHILDREN
Listen to the Heartbeat of the Earth
In preparation for Drum Dance and Dream for Peace 2011, global peace dreamers
have begun a daily meditation practice: Listen to the Heartbeat of the Earth.
This is a meditation of stilling and listening. Join us.
From this meditation, we will create a Ceremony for the Future of the World's
Children.
A Prayer from Native American Medicine Man Woableza given in 2007:
16 children of the colors of mankind will gather together.
Four each will stand in the four directions: west, north, east and south. The
children will dance in a circle, facing the mother earth.
After encircling four times, dancing for Mother Earth barefoot, they will stop.
They will say a simple prayer in their language for Mother Earth and all her
inhabitants.
Four grandmothers of four races will bring them bowls painted red, white, yellow
and blue, sixteen bowls in all.
The grandmothers will fill the bowls with what the children of the future will
need such as: clean water, heritage seeds from all corners of the earth,
beautiful flowers, and incense from all over the world.
At the end of the ceremony, the children will again turn, facing outward toward
a new path of continuing life. The large bowls of flowers will be tossed in the
air so that the children may dance with flowers at their feet. The music can be
drumming and harps.
