Bring your drum; bring your dreams of peace; bring a dish to pass. It's
the generosity of David Gordon and Dani Vedros, we will meet at The Studio for
the Healing Arts in Ghent on Friday, December 21, for Drum Dance and Dream for
Peace 2012 - A Solstice Celebration. It has been four years since we last
gathered for this event, but the spirit of the drum seems to be calling.

Drum Dance and Dream for Peace is a fundraising effort of the World Dreams Peace
Bridge to aid children traumatized by war and violence. Since 2003 the Peace
Bridge, an international group created by Tidewater resident Jean Campbell, has
worked directly with Iraqi refugees in Jordan and the US. This year, proceeds
from the Solstice Celebration will also go toward the development of a local
training program for therapists and counselors: Heal Trauma Fast!
This email is also being sent to members of the
World Dreams Peace Bridge and friends of the Bridge globally. If you can join us
in drumming by forming a circle of your own on Solstice, let me know. (Take
pictures!:) Anywhere you might be on this Solstice, even if you are alone, pat a
drum for Peace--and for the children.

Listen to the Heartbeat of the Earth
In preparation for Drum Dance and Dream for Peace 2011, global peace dreamers
have begun a daily meditation practice: Listen to the Heartbeat of the Earth.
This is a meditation of stilling and listening. Join us.
From this meditation, we will create a Ceremony for the Future of the World's
A Prayer from Native American Medicine Man Woableza given in 2007:
Four each will stand in the four directions: west, north, east and south.
children will dance in a circle, facing the mother earth.
After encircling four times, dancing for Mother Earth barefoot, they will stop.
They will say a simple prayer in their language for Mother Earth and all her
Four grandmothers of four races will bring them bowls painted red, white, yellow
and blue, sixteen bowls in all.
The grandmothers will fill the bowls with what the children of the future will
need such as: clean water, heritage seeds from all corners of the earth,
beautiful flowers, and incense from all over the world.
At the end of the ceremony, the children will again turn, facing outward toward
a new path of continuing life. The large bowls of flowers will be tossed in the
air so that the children may dance with flowers at their feet. The music can be
drumming and harps.
I pray that this happens
