Lorikeet Peace Train

I painted a peace train for my godson while reflecting on his gift of life and his future. I prayed for peace in the world and peace in his heart. May God grant him the ability to love all, and appreciate all life has to offer with peace and love as his guide. I love him dearly. For his birthday this certificate and painting recognizes his life, a gift treasured by all of those that surround him and peace in their hearts.

The Peace Train Project
Like many other projects of The World Dreams Peace Bridge, the Peace Train Project began with a dream. This is the dream recorded by Jeremy Seligson in Korea on July 26, 2002.
THE PEACE TRAIN
I am traveling with a group of friends in the countryside in the middle of nowhere. We have been in a village. I’ve wandered off on my own, but a responsible young man fetches me and says, "A train has come ...."
I am in line w the group for lunch at a cafeteria. While in line, Ada Haroni (the founder of IFLAC - International Forum for Literature and Culture of Peace) comes over to me and smiling, says, "We are more successful than the other peace group because it is not so well organized. Our group always gets together on time when it is time to move on."
Our long black locomotive travels all the way across the country to Washington, D.C., where outside the Capitol steps it is applauded by President Gore and many people dressed in suits. A large white banner around the smokestack reads, PEACE TRAIN. This makes me joyful. I leap high in the air and float partway down a hill, landing on my feet. Others around me are surprised I could do that....
Others on The World Dreams Peace Bridge soon picked up this Peace Train theme, both in dreams and discussion. And before long, the group developed
A Call for Peace Trains.
Prior to the creation of this site, Victoria Quinton of Australia, created a page on her web site for the Peace Train Project, particularly for the Children's Peace Train with illustrations created by her children, Emily and Blake.

The above collage Peace Train was started by member May and sent via regular mail to Peace Bridge members around the world to add their train carriage. To join in this Peace Train project, send a post to the bridge and let us know! [how to become a member]
Comments About the Peace Train Project:
Victoria this is absolutely lovely and a wonderful campaign. While wandering through the web site, I envisioned a global peace train traveling the world linking all the peace programs into a visible picture for the world to see. ~ Lavinia Weissman www.workecology.com
Thank you for your 10th October letter regarding the Children’s Peace Train project.... Your idea is very interesting and we commend your efforts to engage children to express their views on peace in such a creative way... I wish you every success for your project and in your future work.
Yours Sincerely, Carol Bellamy - Executive Director of UNICEF
